Quark walked up to the watchtower, looking out over the waste that they called, 'home'. This was the eighth town he had been in on his journey. Each one before had been destroyed by zombies, and he had escaped, using nothing but his wits. He was wearing a cloak the color of shadows, causing him to blend in, the clouds blocking the sun causing him to be able to hide in the darkness whenever he wished.
..."Because I need your help to get out of this hell hole. This town won't survive for more than a month long. It's been a year, and ever since you came, the zombies have been gathering in the hundreds..."


He let out a sigh, spotting hordes of zombies all around the city, and in the distance, at least 200 or so zombies. He stepped on to the ledge of the tower, looking down. After a moment, he heard someone behind him.
Quark let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, but you're wrong. the zombies have nothing to do with me. You're just insane."


"Don't move." A dark voice spoke out to him. He didn't turn. He knew he'd be dead if he did.
"No, I'm not. You know I'm right. There's no use denying it." the man frowned, tightening his hold on his gun, which was pointed at Quark's head.


"Fine. You're right." Quark lied.

"I knew it! I was r-" the man was cut off mid sentence, a slim dagger finding it's way from Quark's cloak, to the man's head. He fell back, blood staining the floor as he fell down the stairs.


"What do you want?" Quark asked, his hand slowly slipping to his waist, the movements hidden by the cloak which covered his arms. He gripped his dagger.
Quark looked over the ledge, leaping forward. He landed on the roof of a house, rolling to spread the pressure from the fall, avoiding injury. He jumped to the street, walking away, the echoing screams of the men who had discovered the body, ringing through his ears as he walked.


"You've obviously lived in more than one town. You didn't live here before. You may have fooled the others into thinking you're just a traveler who was holed up near the town before all this began, but you can't fool me."


"And what if you're right?" Quark raised an eyebrow, although the man behind him couldn't see...
