The Well

Revised for Season 17

The Well is where the Citizens go each day to collect their allotted Water Ration. In each new Distant Town, the well begins filled with anywhere from 90-180 Water Rations water rations. If the town is Hardcore the well begins filled with anywhere from 60-90 Water Rations.

Ability to Take Water From Well

Each citizen can take 1 Water Ration from the well each day.

If the Pump is built, each citizen can take up to 2 Water Rations from the well each day.

If the town is in Chaos Mode, each citizen can take up to 3 Water Rations from the well each day, if the pump is built. If the pump is not built, every citizen is limited to 2 Water Ration from the well each day.

A banned citizen can only take 1 Water Ration from the well each day, even if the pump was built or the town is in Chaos Mode.

Adding more water to the well

• Building the Pump adds 15 Water Rations
  • Upgrading the Pump adds 20 rations, then for every 2 upgrades adds 10 more (3rd Upgrade adds 30, 5th Upgrade adds 40).
• Building the Hydraulic Network adds 5 rations
• Building the Drilling Rig adds 50 rations
• Building the Mechanical Pump adds 75 rations
• Building the Divining Rocket adds 60 rations
• Building the Eden Project adds 50 rations
• Building the Divining Rods adds 100 rations
• Building the No Holes Barred adds 100 rations
• Building the Water Catcher adds up to 2 rations per day
• Purifying a Full Jerrycan / Stagnant Water Can (done in your Home) with the Water Purifier adds 1-3 rations to the well. If the Water Filter was also built, it adds 4-9 rations to the well.
  • Note that using Water Purifying Tablets on a Full Jerrycan / Stagnant Water Can does not add Water Rations directly to the well, it places them in your rucksack.
• Individual Water Rations, and Purified Stagnant Water may be added to the well. (Note that this way Purified Stagnant Water may be converted.)
• Trying to fill the well with no water/ poisoned water gives:

You need clean water (not from a Jerrycan, for example) in your rucksack.

Water Turrets

If the Water Turrets are upgraded, they will take some water from the well during the attack and boost the town's defense. If there is not enough water in the well, the upgrade will be ignored.

• Water Turrets will not drain the well initially, but will begin to do so once they are upgraded
  • Level 1 will drain 2 rations each day
  • Level 2 will drain 4 rations each day
  • Level 3 will drain 6 rations each day
  • Level 4 will drain 9 rations each day
  • Level 5 will drain 12 rations each day
