Defence items can be placed in the bank to add to the towns defence stats. Each item will add 2 defence point to the town total, this figure can be increased by constructing defensive focus. Items can also be placed in players homes to improve their defence value, however it should be noted each item is only worth 1 defence point when used in a house so this option should be avoided.

In the bank: Adds 2 base defence points to the town total.
* Each defence item will add 1 {{DP}} to the town's total {{MetaInline|Defence}} if placed in {{MetaInline|The Bank}}
** The value can be increased up to 3 {{DP}} per item by {{MetaInline|Construction Sites|displayname=Constructing}} and {{MetaInline|Building upgrades|displayname=Upgrading}} the {{MetaInline|Defensive Focus}}
* Defence items can also be placed in a {{MetaInline|Citizens|displayname=Citizen's}} {{MetaInline|Personal Chest}} at {{MetaInline|Home}}
** In that case they increase the personal {{MetaInline|Home defence}} by 1 per item.
** This also increases the {{MetaInline|Town|displayname=Town's}} total {{MetaInline|Defence}}, but only by 0.4 {{DP}} per item (0.8 {{DP}} with {{MetaInline|Community Involvement}})
* Defence items can also be used for other purposes:
** For {{MetaInline|Camping|displayname=Upgrading campsites}}
** As {{MetaInline|Armoury|displayname=Weapons}}
** As {{MetaInline|Guard Weapons}} for the {{MetaInline|Watchmen}}
** As resources for {{MetaInline|Construction Sites}}

** For other special effects
