[v·d·e] Terrorised
You were involved in an atrocious event and are terrorised! You can no longer decide to stay in a Horde-controlled zone. If you are trapped, you will no longer be able to run away!
Category Status
Sub Category Mental

Fear is to be expected when confronting daily zombie attacks, while suffering shortages of food, water, and resources. When the fear catches up with the town, some people will just not be able to cope...

Cause[edit]

  • ~20% chance of being Terrorised after taking Unlabelled Drug / Betapropine 5mg (expired)
  • Chance of being Terrorised after taking a LSD. (Chance is unknown)
  • Drawing Your name Written in blood when using an Incomplete Deck of Cards.
  • Using the Cursed Cuddly Toy
  • During The Attack, having the town be breached by zombies and your Home being assaulted, but surviving because you have higher personal defence points than the amount of zombies that attacked you.
    • You will receive a message from The Crow, with the message entitled "Terrorised!!":
OK. We've got good news and bad news. The good news is that despite the best efforts of [X] zombies to devour you, you got through it ! The bad news is that the experience really shook you up, so you are now terrorised by the idea of having to go through that again...
    • If your house is not attacked you will not become Terrorised.
  • During the Attack, a Watchman may acquire this status when fighting the zombies:
Watchman [Citizen] resisted all they could, but this zombie onslaught etched a look of total terror on their face!

Effects[edit]

  • You exert no Control Points instead of 2. This means that encountering even one zombie in the World Beyond will cause you to become trapped unless someone comes to save you.
  • When trapped in a zone:
    • Attempting any action will fail, and the following message will appear:
"If you are gripped by terror, in the desert and surrounded by zombies you can't do anything... You need to find a drug or something else to calm your nerves and get out of this hellhole... At least it is still possible to call for help on the forum..."
    • You cannot fight zombies, even with Weapons (e.g. Water Bomb, Box Cutter). Fights of despair do not work either, since a fist fight is even more risky than fighting with weapons.
    • You cannot flee the zone, even if you're not Wounded. You will not be Wounded for attempting, however.
    • You cannot Eat or drink, or otherwise use anything from your rucksack (with the exception of Valium Shot)
    • You cannot use your Three-legged Labradoodle if you are a Tamer, as this also classes as an item from your inventory. This action will not help you anyway.
    • You can do Camping related actions such as "Improve the campsite", or "Hide here for the night".
    • You can use Heroic Actions such as Heroic Return, Seeker and Vicious Uppercut, although seeker is useless in this situation due to not being able to use any item you find (unless you have the Seeker (upgraded), in which case you can find and use a Valium Shot).
    • You can attempt to use Break Through, which has a 50% chance of killing one zombie and gaining control for 10 minutes.
    • You can take a Valium Shot (also causing you to become Drugged), which removes the Terrorised status, allowing you to take control of the zone again (or at least the situation).
  • -30 Defense and -45 Safety when you are on watch.
  • Messages on the forums and private messages are distorted.

Prevention[edit]

Removal[edit]

Notes[edit]

  • In a zone clear of zombies, you still behave normally, except for the distorted speech.
  • Identifiable in any citizen's Home by the rumor:
"can't sleep anymore and is babbling incoherently, talking of death, talking shadows and voices in their head..."
  • If there is a breach and if you are terrorised before the attack, you can get "Terrorised!!" messages again if zombies visited your house.
  • In rare cases, you might get "A frightful night!" message instead, which does not show the number of zombies that tried to devour you. However, this has no relation to whether you were terrorised or not before the attack. If you were not terrorised before the attack and received this message, then you will escape the night with no terror. If you were terrorised, then you will remain so.
"A frightful night!": You were really sweating last night! You heard them groaning, banging around and yelling outside. Eventually your door gave way and you took refuge under your bed, clutching your remaining possessions, trying not to think about the situation. Then they left... Shaking with fear you eventually came out of your hiding place, grateful that you survived.
  • Unless you are entering zombie-infected zones alone, or being a Watchmen , you might not need to cure Terrorised

Trivia[edit]

  • Previously called "Terrified".
