According to the Shaman, zombies are still rather humanistic, and each group of zombies has a leader to guide their hunts. So, if we magically decapitate that one leader, the horde of zombies will not recover from the shock and loss of morale for a night; or perhaps they're just spending the remainder of the day electing a new leader.

Using this evil looking guillotine and crudely constructed mannequin, the shaman can cut off the head of a pack-leader zombie at a distance, causing those who follow it to turn and wander back into the desert.
